Kanda poha














Ingredients :

Thick Beaten Rice (Poha) - 1 cup

Onion - 2 finely sliced

Green peas - 1/2 cup frozen

Green chilies - 2 finely chopped

Cumin Seeds - 1 Teaspoon

Turmeric powder - 1/2 Teaspoon

Curry leaves - few

Peanuts - few roasted

Oil - 2 Tablespoon

Salt - To taste

Coriander leaves - For Garnish

Lemon wedges - For Garnish (optional)


Method : 

Wash the poha under running water and rinse it nicely. Quickly drain the water completely and set aside to soften. Meanwhile heat oil in a pan and add oil. When the oil is hot, add cumin seeds, green chilies, peanuts, curry leaves and fry for a second. Add the sliced onions and sauté them till they turn pink and start to sweat. Add peas, turmeric powder, salt and mix well. cover and cook for a minute on low heat. Now add the poha and stir well. Sprinkle little water, cover and cook it for 30 seconds on completely low flame.  when the poha is hot, switch off the gas and add coriander leaves and stir it well. Serve hot with lemon wedges.
