Apple crumble













Ingredients :


2   Green apples, peeled, cored and sliced to 1 cm thick

1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon powder

1/2 cup + 1 Tablespoon raw sugar

Juice of 1 lemon

Lemon zest

1 cup all purpose flour

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup assorted nuts

A pinch of salt

1 Tablespoon Milk


Method :

Preheat the oven to 190C. Toss the apples with 1/2 tbsp sugar, cinnamon powder, juice of 1/2 lemon in a sauce pan and cook it for a couple of minutes. In a bowl, add the flour, salt sugar, lemon juice, butter and rub it with your fingertips until the mixture looks like moist bread crumbs. Place the apples in a baking dish , add milk and pour the crumb mix over the apples . Gently press the surface with the back of the fork so the crumble holds together.  Bake it in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until the top is golden. Leave it to cool before serving. Serve it with ice cream.
