Broccoli Cheese Bites

Broccoli is a good source of fiber and protein and contains iron, calcium, potassium and vitamins. It's good idea to include this vegetable to your diet. But if you have kids who make faces when you make a stir fry or would never eat broccoli in their pasta then the best way to make them eat this green vegetable is by making these cheesy broccoli bites.

Broccoli recipes don't have to be boring.... these bites are an outrageously delicious snack and watch as even the pickiest of eaters scoff them down!

Crispy on the outside with a bread crumb coating and totally cheesy on the inside this snack just melts in the mouth.

I've deep fried these balls but you can shallow fry or even air fry them for a healthier version.

Prep time : 30 mins

Cooking time: 10 mins

Serves : 4

Ingredients :

1 Medium sized Broccoli

1  Potato boiled and mashed

1 cup cheese

1/2 teaspoon crushed red chilli flakes

1/2 cup All purpose flour

1 cup Bread crumbs

Oil for frying

Water

Salt

Method:

Finely chop broccoli and place them in a bowl. Add cheese, salt, chilli flakes, mashed potato  and mix everything well. Shape them into balls or any other shape of your choice. make a slurry out of flour and water . To make a slurry take the flour in a bowl and add in water. Mix it well and let it blend well. Add water if required to make a pouring consistency. It shouldn't be too watery and it should definitely not be too thick. Dip the broccoli balls in to the slurry and then coat them with bread crumbs immediately after removing from the slurry. Now either deep fry these bread coated balls or shallow fry them or you can even air fry them till they are crisp and golden brown in color. Serve it hot with your favorite chutneys or dips.
